This week I moved house. For many of us, moving house is one of the most stressful things that we might do. There is so much to get sorted. Packing up your things, booking the removal van, updating address info, switching suppliers, and maybe decluttering as well. But for all the stress that moving can be, it also brings with it new opportunities. It’s a time for fresh starts and new seasons of life. Moving home can be a chance to move on in work, hobbies, family, or self-improvement.
We are currently in the midst of Spring. We see new life in tiny lambs roaming the fields and tree buds blossoming into extravagantly beautiful flowers. It’s a time of new life, new starts, and new beginnings. Rutland kids will be returning to school tomorrow as they begin the final term of the year. For Year 11s and 13s, it will be the start of their exam seasons. Businesses might be settling into the new financial year. For you, it might be something completely different. For so many of us, April is the time for new beginnings.

Two weeks ago, was Easter. Easter is a time of new beginnings. It is when Christians around the world celebrate Jesus rising from the grave on Easter Sunday. On Good Friday Jesus died on the cross and his followers all believed that this was the end of things. There was no hope, they had given in. But then three days later Jesus rose from the grave to win the gift of eternal life for everyone. Now there was new hope for everyone. It was hope for a new start, for a new life. A chance to leave the past behind and find life to the full in Jesus.
If you feel like you are in a rut, stuck in a bad situation and want to get out of it, know that this season of Easter is a time for a fresh start. There is hope for things to get better. Now is the time to move on to the next season, goal, aim, work, and step. Whatever it is, I hope that you find this new beginning a blessing to you now and for the future. Go get it.
